Thursday Night Throwdown

Switch and Lakeridge have just announced that they will be teaming up again to bring you Thursday Night Throwdowns. Every Thursday from January 21 until March 4, one of the reps that deals with Switch will be heading to Lakeridge with everyone to have some fun, kick it, and give out free stuff. Don't show up with hopes of a contest or even a demo, because you'll be disappointed, but just show up for a good time and hope to maybe get your hands on some free gear and meet some new people. It's gonna be fun.

Get Stoked

Go ahead, get stoked. It's been cold, resorts are blowing snow constantly and mother nature is helping out. Lakeridge is opening Friday and Dagmar is fully opening for the season on Friday as well. Now watch this video on stoke.

More Openings!!!

Mount St. Louis Moonstone is open today, not sure of the details or anything like that, but its closer to the city than Horseshoe, and it's open. Dagmar announced this morning on their twitter that tomorrow (Saturday) at 9am the lifts will open for the first time this year. Their website is crap, so don't bother looking there, and there aren't any details on discounted lift tickets as of now. Horseshoe is opening 2 more lifts and 3 more runs for the weekend, and the day pass is staying set at $25 for now. The season is finally here, come get your stuff waxed at ready to go

It's Here!!!

With Horseshoe in Barrie opening yesterday, a couple buddies headed up to take advantage of the $25 full day lift tickets. Fun was had, rails were killed, food was eaten, and ankles were hurt. All in all it sounded like an awesome opening day in Ontario even with the lack of snow and being limited to only 2 runs. Following Horseshoe's lead, Mount St. Louis Moonstone has announced they will open for their first day on Friday (December 11), Dagmar is set to announce

First Ontario Shred Day

So tomorrow marks the opening of the season in Ontario. There have been a couple of rail jams and contests around, but tomorrow Horseshoe up in Barrie is opening for the first day of the season. With only 2 runs and 1 lift open, it's not a lot by any means, but it's definitely a start and we're looking at heading up at some point tomorrow to get in some laps. They have some parks features set up apparently, so that should make for a pretty fun day #1.

Oh yea, lift tickets are only $25 and they're open from 9-4:30 until they say otherwise!!

Shirts on the wayyyy

Had some meetings today to lay out all the details, colourways, etc. for the shirts, and after a little more work they'll be going into production!!!! Get ready, they'll be here in under 2 weeks time!!!

We're People Too

Many people as teenagers, young adults, and often even people who are much further along in their lives are looked down upon because of certain "styles" or "actions" and may feel unappreciated. It's very hard to convey these feelings to others, but the people who have the hardest time are those who are homeless. Every day they are walked past, ignored, dehumanized, shrugged off by so many people (many of who could easily afford to help them out with even as little as a dollar). I know personally I've been guilty of this, but I also try to give to help out when I can with change in my pocket when I have it, and it gives a feeling that can't be put into words. Sometimes all it takes is a little understanding, or even just spending some time with somebody to make them feel better about themselves.

Here's a video that pro-snowboarder/artist Tj Schneider made. It's inspiring to see how the smallest things like giving someone something to draw on, or giving them a portrait of themselves can make them so happy.

Olympic Torch in Pickering!!

Hey guys, we just learned that the Olympic torch will be passing through Ajax/Pickering on December 17th. The route hasn't been released yet, but this is going to be an unreal chance of a lifetime to see this thing. There is also a "celebration" in downtown Toronto the evening of the 17th if you want to check that out. No details other than that have been released yet, but I for one am definitely going to check it out and start the party of a lifetime. More details will be posted as they come out.

Open House, Sale, Rail Jam?

This Sunday, November 8, Brimacombe (formerly Oshawa Ski Club) will be hosting their annual open house, First Frost at the Brim. There's going to be a pro shop tent sale with big deals, a show of this year's latest outerwear, free snacks and drinks, cheap BBQ food, jumping castle (who doesn't love these?), bumpin music, several displays, and depending on the weather, there will be a rail jam. They're not promising anything because if they do and it doesn't happen, people will be disappointed, but they are saying that if it's possible and the weather co-operates, there will be a rail jam going down.
